Helicopter Flying Lessons - Whether you are trying to beat the traffic, or simply want a bird’s eye view of the countryside, there is no more stylish way to travel than by helicopter. The special skill and co-ordination required to fly helicopters is generally more challenging than flying fixed-wing aircraft - so you’ll feel a great sense of achievement once you’ve mastered it!
You begin your activity with a briefing from one of our expert instructors, to familiarise yourself with the technology and controls of the helicopter. You will typically be taking to the skies in a Robinson R22 helicopter which has two seats - one for you and one for the pilot - and dual controls. During the flight you’ll have the opportunity to fly the helicopter yourself and to practise manoeuvring and hovering.
When can you go?

60 Minute Microlight Flight Experience - Microlighting perfectly captures the spirit of early aviation - pioneering, thrilling and a touch eccentric. These quirky little aircraft, with their panoramic views from the cockpit, are ideal for short trips over the countryside. A great way to fly on a fine summer’s day! Our instructors will give you a thorough briefing and then take you on a trial flying lesson. We are sure you will end up as enthusiastic as they are!
You will be given a detailed briefing from your instructor, which includes how to use dual controls, how to enter the aircraft and pre-take off checks. You then take to the skies, climbing to up to 1500 feet above ground level in a flexwing (open cockpit) or fixed wing (closed cockpit - similar to a mini plane) aircraft (please state preference at time of booking). The instructor will demonstrate the controls and then, if the instructor is happy, the controls will be passed to you. Happy flying!
