Double Decker Bus Driving Session - Did you ever watch ‘On the Buses’ and wonder what it would be like controlling one of these awesome beasts of the road? Well here’s your chance to experience a double decker bus, in this unique driving session!

You will learn how to manoeuvre a double decker bus safely around a pre-defined course with an experienced instructor by your side. This giant activity will give you an insight into what it’s like to get on the buses! The short wheel base and long overhang takes a bit of getting used to, especially when manoeuvring into coned garages, pulling out of T-junctions and circumnavigating roundabouts.

When can you go?

This experience is available on selected weekdays and weekends, until 30th September 2007.

Duration

You will spend 45 minutes at the wheel of the double decker bus.

You must be fit and able bodied to participate in this activity. The maximum weight is 114kg (18 stone). The maximum height is 1.93m (6ft 4′) and the minimum height is 1.57m (5ft 2′).
A full, valid UK or European driving licence must be brought, and shown on the day.
The minimum age is 17 years old.

How many in a group?

It will just be you and the instructor.

Spectators

You are welcome to bring up to three spectators with you, who can ride in the bus with you.

Fire Engine Driving Experience - 2 for 1

Fire Engine Driving Experience - Have you ever driven a 13 ton Dennis or Scania Fire appliance? Do you fancy having a go? Well here’s your chance!

They usually pass you by in a blur and you can hear them coming a mile off! But what’s it like to get in the cab and drive it yourself? Why not find out in a session with an experienced instructor and firefighter. Driving the appliance around a specially laid out course including top gear main roads, roundabouts, T-junctions, slaloms and garages, well make things as realistic as possible - the vehicle will be carrying a full equipment load and carrying two tonnes of water!

When can you go?

This experience is available on selected weekdays and weekends, to be taken before 30th September 2007.

Duration

You will spend 45 minutes at the wheel of the fire engine.

Half Day Off Road Driving Course

Half Day Off Road Driving Course - You’ll be amazed by what a four-wheel-drive vehicle can do: traversing holes, gullies and hillsides so steep you’ll have to fight to stay in your seat! You’ll learn to drive on some of Britain’s most rugged and uncompromising terrain on this unforgettable four-wheel-drive adventure. We have carefully selected the best off road driving locations in the country to give you the opportunity to do some seriously challenging driving in beautiful, yet challenging locations. You’ll learn lots of fascinating driving techniques - such as hill starts, driving through mud and vehicle control on steep slopes. An amazing experience for anyone that likes a bit of the rough stuff!

Your session begins with an introductory briefing on off-roading techniques, together with an explanation of four-wheel-drive systems. The instructor will do a demonstration drive and then it’s time for you to take the wheel!

When can you go?

Selected dates normally Saturdays and Sundays and some weekdays, all year round.

Duration

Your adventure will last approximately 3 hours and you’ll be at the controls for around 45 minutes.

You must be at least 17 years old to participate in this activity.
This is may not suitable for people suffering from diabetes, epilepsy or angina pain. If in doubt please check before booking.
You need to hold a full valid UK or European manual driving licence in order go off roading.

Ferrari Challenge

Ferrari Challenge - How will you compare the Porsche 996, Subaru and Lotus Elise to the legendary Ferrari?

The adventure takes place at a former airfield - the perfect place to drive these Super-cars. After a welcome on arrival, you will be split into groups which rotate around the following thrilling activities:

Drive the Porsche 996 - release the power of this stunning looking Porsche with the GT3 body kit and 3.6 litre engine.
Experience the Subaru Impreza WRX. How about finding out what it is like to drive in a Subaru Impreza WRX rally car?
Excel in the Lotus Elise, where size isn’t everything! The Elise may be small, but with its lightweight construction it is big on performance.
Finally the Ferrari 360. Hold on tight as this mid-mounted 3.5 litre V8 engine will power the brave from 0-60mph in just 4.6 seconds, the prancing horse on the bonnet says it all, as you drive one of the world’s most famous Super-cars.
Please note that the program will not necessarily follow this order on the day.

This activity is available on selected dates, between March to December.

You will have approximately 2 hours in total with roughly 20 minutes driving time.

The maximum height for this activity is1.98m (6ft 6), the minimum is 1.52m (5ft 0). The maximum weight 102kg (16 stone).
You will require a full valid European or UK manual driving licence required, which must have been held for a minimum of 2 years and must be produced on the day.

How many in a group?

There will be a maximum of 20 other people in your group, with up to five people to each car.

Off Road Taster Session

Off Road Taster Session - Head for the hills across some rough, tough terrain in a hardy 4-wheel drive vehicle.

You’ll be amazed by what a four wheel drive vehicle can do. Mud, holes, gullies, steep slopes - the most rugged terrain can be crossed if you have the skills. We have carefully selected the best off road driving locations in the country. All will give you some seriously challenging driving in some beautiful locations. We have also made sure the quality of driving tuition is the best.

Your session begins with an introductory briefing on off roading technique, together with an explanation of 4WD systems. The instructor will do a demonstration drive, and then it’s time for you to take turns at the wheel! 15 minutes are actually spent behind the wheel by each participant but the whole programme is spent in the car.

When can you go?

This experience is available on selected Saturdays & Sundays, throughout the year.

Duration

Your experience will last for approximately 1 - 1.5 hours at the venue.

Junior Rally Driving

Junior Rally Driving - A fantastic junior rally experience for kids with no driving experience.

After a safety briefing, you will spend your first session learning clutch control, steering and braking. The second session allows you to develop these newly acquired skills ready to hit the rally stage. For your last session, it will be straight into the rally seat and onto the loose surface rally stage, your instructor will be calling the corners for you, and giving further instruction, and tips to power your way around the stage. Finally your experience ends with your instructor showing you how it should be done, as you are given a high speed chauffeured ride. Programmes vary slightly depending on the venue.

When can you go?

Selected dates in the school holidays but it varies slightly depending on the venue, typically all year round

The whole experience should last between 2- 4 hours, depending on the venue.

To participate in this activity you need to be aged between 11 and 17 years old.
The maximum height is 1.98m (6ft 6′),the minimum is 1.52m (4ft 6′). The maximum weight 101.6kg (16 stone).
No qualifications or previous experience are necessary to take part in this activity.

There will be up to another 11 people in your group

Spectators

You are welcome to take a limited amount of family and friends along to watch you on your first rally. Due to the nature of this activity facilities are normally basic.

Racing Car Driving

Racing Car Driving - From the moment you climb into a single-seater racing car, you are in for some unbelievable excitement. The starter waves his flag, you pump the accelerator, the engine roars and you’re off. In a matter of seconds youre taking the corners and barrelling along!

The programme typically involves a welcome on arrival, followed by a briefing. Then its time to take to the wheel for laps in a performance saloon, where your instructor will demonstrate circuit driving techniques such as taking the correct line on a corner. Next you take the wheel yourself to practise what you have been taught. Then the real action begins: you take a single seater racing car such as a Formula First, Formula Renault or Formula Ford around the racing circuit. With potential acceleration of 0-60 in less than 6 seconds, these cars are perfectly placed to introduce you to the thrills of racing.

When can you go?

Days of the week vary depending on the location, available March to October.

Duration

You’ll spend approximately 1-4 hours at the venue timings vary depending on the circuit and weather.

You need to be at least 18 years old to participate in this activity.
The maximum weight is 102kg (16 stone), the maximum height is 1.88m (6ft 2), the minimum height is 1.57m (5ft 2). This experience may not be suitable for those who are pregnant, suffer from epilepsy or any mental or physical disability.
You need a full valid UK/European driving licence, which must have been held for at least a year and needs to be shown on the day. If you have points on your licence you may need to check before booking. You may be asked to sign an indemnity on the day.

How many in a group

Driving is on a one to one basis but the car is shared with other voucher holders on the day.
